Cycling

The National Cycle Route 1 almost passes our site gate…you can pick the route up just down the lane.

If you are not familiar with Route 1 it’s 1264 miles long connecting Scotland to Dover! The section that passes us is flat easy going quiet country lanes.

From our site gate turn right to pick the route up which is just down the lane….once on it turn left to head to Boston which takes you off the beaten track on back lanes right into Boston town center…then there is a section of cycle path which takes you along the River Witham past Anton’s Gowt and on to Langrick Bridge. Alternatively turn right once you are on the route which passes our nearest pub, The Ship which is about 2.5 miles away…on from there, there is a very short section of cycle path along the side of the A17 ( you are not actually on the main road) before heading back on to country lanes heading towards the market town of Holbeach (12 miles)

National Cycle Route 1….Slade House CL site is located on the dropped pin

More details on the route can be found on the web here.. https://www.sustrans.org.uk/find-a-route-on-the-national-cycle-network/route-1/

Of course you don’t need to get as adventurous as cycling to Scotland ….there are a couple of short loops around the local lanes which myself and my wife often cycle, 3-5 mile long…I’m always on hand should you want directions to these.
